We asked viewers to submit letters, explaining what makes their moms so special and we really received some heartfelt testimonials.
Today, meet Laura Burns of Hamden, honoring her mom, Donna.
Well my story starts on May 15, 2018.
My husband and I were home during some pretty weird storms and my husband had just had open heart surgery. Well, the weather was getting worse by the minute and all of a sudden it happened.
Crash – an 80 foot tree fell on the house.
All I thought was, “Where am I going to go?”
I called my mom, Donna Limauro. I was in tears. I told her what happened and she said, without hesitation, “Come to our house.”

Well, here it is almost a year later and we are still here .
My mom would do anything for anyone. That is the type of person she is.
I want to say thank you to my mom for doing what she has done for my family in the past year.
Donna is loving, caring, has a huge heart and would give you the shirt off her back.
My mom as also taught me to be the woman I am today. She is always here to listen and give you the best hugs when you need them.
I love my mom to the moon and back.
Happy Mother’s Day!
