Mother’s Day is Sunday, so, we turned to you, to help us honor some of Connecticut’s wonderful moms.
We asked viewers to submit letters, explaining what makes their moms so special and we really received some heartfelt testimonials.
Today, meet Alisia DeCrosta, of Middletown, honoring her mom, Gayle.
My Mom, Gayle DeCrosta, is a Mom of four daughters and a grandma of 4 grandchildren and foster children. When I was 22 I was diagnosed with brain cancer and it was my Mom who stood by me through treatments and made it “all ok” with her loving words.
She is now supporting my Dad as he readies himself for a needed kidney transplant.
As a family of 6 we have gone though trials and tribulations. She is my and our rock. She is strong, loving sensitive and everyone’s voice of reason. Her faith in God and her family are unlike any other. I wish she had her Mom to share the human being she is.
There isn’t another caring mother, wife, grandmother and godmother, sister and friend like my Mom.
When we were much younger, we didn’t have a lot of money.
Momma still cooked meals every night and warmed up supper for my Dad.
She got us what she could but let us feel loved and like we had the world with her.
I am so lucky to have been born to such a wonderful woman. Without her, I would be nothing.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom…I love you.
Watch News 8 as we continue to honor moms all week at 9am and 5pm.
