Freebie Friday: 5 free indoor activities for kids


April showers bring May flowers, but it can also bring on a headache for parents looking to entertain their kids. This Freebie Friday, we are stretching your dollar with five free indoor activities for kids!

If they’re interested in outer space, kids ages eight and over are invited to see a free star show at the Central Connecticut State University observatory. You get to observe the sky with a bunch of different telescopes after the show.

On the first Thursday of the May, Stepping Stones opens up for free from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Your kids can explore labs and work on building projects.

If your kids find dinosaurs interesting, enjoy free admission to the Peabody Museum Thursday afternoons from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Stores like Barnes & Nobles, Michael’s, and Home Depot host free crafts or story time. Check with your locations for specific time and schedules.

Every Saturday at Hamden’s Lakeshore Learning, there’s a free craft for kids to enjoy from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
