April is National Volunteer Month. One 14 year old girl from Wallingford has been working to make a difference in education, by collecting books for Read to Grow.
For the past 7 years, Chelsea Fitzgerald has rounded up over 11,000 books to put in the hands of children here in Connecticut. Her mom Gina says, she has the goal for collecting and donating 20,000 by the time she graduates high school in 2023.
Chelsea says she was inspired to start volunteer work after watching her older sister receive the Presidential Community Service Award.
She dreams to one day become a librarian to continue sharing her love for reading to others.
