April 22nd is Earth Day. Being kind to the environment is important all year long. Environmental Expert Amy Parulis breaks down what’s in and what’s out when it comes to recycling in Connecticut. 

What’s In
– Plastic bottles (with or without caps)
– Plastic containers, tubs, lids
-Single use plastic  cups
-Food and Beverage containers including pizza boxes
-Junk Mail
-Food Grade aerosol containers
-Aluminum foil
 

What’s  Out: 

-Loose bottle caps
-Plastic bags & wrap – those can be recycled at grocery stores
-Plastic plates, bowls, utensils,
-Prescription bottles
-Styrofoam cups, containers, packaging peanuts
-Wrapping paper & gift bags
-Ice Cream containers
-Paper cups
-Shredded paper
-Tissue paper
-Paint cans
-Pots and pans
-Foil tops from yogurt
-Drinking glasses
-Ceramic mugs & plates
