Postpartum depression affects more than 3 million women every year.
As many celebrities like Chrissy Teigen speak out about the difficulties of the transition to motherhood and postpartum depression, two local women are championing maternal health in honor of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week.
Natalie Telyatnikov, founder of Better Postpartum, and Blakeley Lowry, a Maternal Mental Health Advocate, HealthRight International, joined Good Morning Connecticut at 9 to talk about maternal mental health and postpartum depression.
They are also raising $100,000 in scholarship funds to effectively create a continuum of care for all women after they give birth, ensuring that all women have access to postpartum education and care.
