(WTNH) — Many families will be carving pumpkins this weekend as Halloween draws closer!

But ahead of the fun festivities, parents are reminded to be mindful of the safety hazards. One slip with a knife could leave you or your kids with a serious injury.

Dr. Hudson Seidell, an orthopedic surgeon with the Connecticut Orthopedic Institute at Midstate Medical Center, joined News 8 to address some of these concerns.

He addressed questions such as how frequent are pumpkin carving accidents? And what should we do if someone is injured?
