Are you looking for a career shake up, but don’t know where to start? To share her advice for how to land that dream job, we spoke to career expert Melody Rivera, Director of the Connecticut office of The Bachrach Group.
We all know that the best time to find a job is when you already have one or a project going on. However, you always have to have your ear to the ground because you never know what’s going to happen.
Here are some of the Q’s and A’s she addressed:
When is the best time to look for a job?
How to stand out at the interview:
What about if you are already out of work and looking for a job, what can people do?
If I were looking for work right now, what are the top industries who are hiring?
If you are pigeon-holed into a specific position, what can you do to re-ignite or spark your career?
First, you want to sit down and find the why by finding out what needs to be invigorated, or where the change would benefit you. Then, you can assess your skill set, to see if any additional training or certifications may be recommended.
Make sure you have one solid document to present to employers during the interview.
