The importance of summer camp for growing girls

Good Morning CT at Nine

As school comes to a close, summer camp and getting outdoors are very important for growing girls.

Summer camps through Girl Scouts of Connecticut helps young girls build confidence and try new activities.

Girl Scouts also offers scholarships for girls who go to camp. You do not need to be a Girl Scout to sign up, though Girl Scouts of Connecticut are always encouraging new members.

Sunday, June 10th is the 70 Gold Award Girl Scouts at Cascade in Hamden. There will be an expo portion of the event where girls can showcase their projects in the same format as a science fair. At the reception, we will hear from two Girl Scout Speakers, the CEO, and the girls will receive their certificates for earning the Gold Award.

News 8 is also proud to be helping out the Girl Scouts of Connecticut by visiting their Camp Katoya in Milford for Founder’s Day.
