Women Nation in Burlington brings business women together

Good Morning CT at Nine

(WTNH) — A new company in Burlington called Women Nation is giving hardworking, business-centered women networking opportunities. Founders Shari Melilo and Kim Estep tell us how it works.

Shari and Kim started the company by attending women’s conferences through Convention Nation. They began to notice that women needed a little more help in growing their businesses.

Kim says some of the obstacles women face is needing a second job. They often need a second paycheck to help them cover things like health insurance. This busy schedule limits their time to attend networking events.

Women Nation helps like-minded women work together, feed off each other’s ideas, and above all, empower one another both in person and online. Some of the obstacles these women will talk about include ideas for updating their websites and reaching their target audiences.

Shari says what makes Women Nation different from other networking groups is that they help make it a personal experience. The Women Nation team works with their participants personally and get the group talking about what they need.
