Chemotherapy performed by Connecticut surgeons to be featured on 'The Good Doctor'

(WTNH) - November 12th's episode of 'The Good Doctor' is featuring Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy, which is used for ovarian cancer. The cutting edge technology is only used by two or three surgeons in Connecticut. Dr. Bret Schipper, surgical oncologist and Director of Heated Intraperitoneal Perfusion Program  at Saint Francis Hospital is one of them.

The chemotherapy machine was also recently featured on an episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Saint Francis’ cancer care program currently has a clinical trial open to gynecological oncology to look specifically at the impact HIPEC may have for ovarian cancer patients.
