New HPV vaccine guidelines

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. The HPV virus can cause this particular cancer. Important changes to the HPV vaccine may be relevant to women and men in your family!

The Food and Drug Administration recently approved the human papillomavirus
vaccine to include men and women aged 27 to 45 years old. The HPV vaccine was previously only approved for men and women aged 9 to 26 years old.

This change means there is more opportunity to help prevent HPV-related diseases and cancers in a broader age range.
