Miss Connecticut Bridget Oei won first runner up at the Miss America competition.
This is the first time Miss Connecticut has made it to the Miss America top 5 since 1936.
Some of Oei’s accomplishments range from being a world ranked Irish step dancer, to helping create an important advancement in the pacemaker.
She is a UCONN graduate who serves as an advocate for women in STEM, and acts as goodwill ambassador for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
