Photographer Hailley Howard is based on the west coast, but finds herself 90 percent of the time doing commercial shoots and weddings on the east coast.
She has been booked all over because of her work.
Howard, from the time she was little, loved creating stories through her photographs.
“A lot of people are photographers and it’s really competitive. But I decided I was really ready to take that leap and I’ve never looked back,” she said.
“I love this picture, it feels very Hitchcockesque to me,” she said, describing an image. “This was recent, this was a very recent shoot for a jewelry company out of San Diego.”
“I use mirrors a lot, I have a very clean aesthetic,” Howard added.
“It’s ideal lighting. You don’t have harsh light and then harsh shadows coming in the middle of the day because this was in the day, this was their first look,” she explained.
“This is an in-camera double exposure, so you have to be very specific. It’s hard to know sometimes until you see how the light in one picture is going to overlay on top of the other, so yes, this is two images put together in camera,” she added.
“Private property, I wasn’t able to do what I wanted, s this is a smoke bomb and this is one of my favorite pictures,” she said. “I actually have this hanging in my bedroom.”
Howard, along with all of the work she has, is also working on a coffee table book of her work.
