NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — It’s Friday and after a long workweek, it’s time to find out what you can get for nothing in this week’s Freebie Friday.
If your colleagues have made fun of you for getting in on the Pokemon Go action, jokes on them because now stores are starting to use it to get perks. This weekend, Sam’s Club is offering a free one-day pass to non-members who play Pokemon and a cookie to any players. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be able to catch a Jigglypuff while you’re shopping! Also, at a number of Sweet Frog locations you can beat the heat and get discounted frozen yogurt based on what level you’re on.
Saturday is National Hot Dog day so look out for deals. The one I found: 7-eleven will have one dollar quarter pound big bites.
If comics are your thing, Barnes and Noble in North Haven is having a special event starting at 7 pm on Saturday. You could get a Free Harley Quinn and the suicide squad special edition comic, as well as other freebies and activities.
Looking for ways to keep the kids cool: they can bowl free at Silver Lanes – 748 Silver Lane – East Hartford (until Aug. 31), Lucky Lanes 1782 Berlin Turnpike – Berlin (until Aug. 30), Lessard Lanes – 136 New Britain Ave. – Plainville (until Sept. 30)

It’s also the final weekend to get in on Bass Pro Shops family summer camp and all the fun giveaways that come with that.
