Stretch Your Dollar: Money-savers whenever a store shows signs of possible closure

Stretch Your Dollar

Sears has filed for bankruptcy and as the company works to restructure, it’s important for you to take note of how it could impact you and your money.

We are stretching your dollar with four money-savers whenever any store shows signs of financial problems or possible closure.

First, if you have a gift card, time to get it out and use it. In general, your really shouldn’t hang onto gift cards for too long anyway.

If you’re near a location that is shutting down, take advantage of sales. This could be  a good opportunity as we approach the holidays!

Which brings us to our next tip – be absolutely sure about any purchase you make. There’s a chance it’ll be a final sale, and if it’s not, you could still have a hard time retuning or exchanging if something happens to the store’s operation, such as a possible closure without warning.

Lastly, if you have an item you’re paying for, you should work to get it paid off and picking up. It’s important to be thinking about the “what-ifs” in these certain scenarios.
