Stretch Your Dollar

It’s estimated there are about a billion dollars in unused gift cards floating around. We are stretching your dollar with what you can do with them.

We’re four months into the new year. Are you still hanging onto those holiday gift cards?

If you know you’re not going to use it, personal finance website Kiplingers recently broke down some of the ways to cash in a card.

Gift Card Granny” is one place to check. The site buys unused cards at a discount or if you prefer, you might be able to trade your card in for one that you rather have.

Another gift card broker, “Raise” have apps to help you manage the cards you’re trying to sell.

Keep in mind, if you rather not list a card or do a transaction online there are ways to do it in person.

“Gift Card Granny” offers physical locations where you can cash in an unwanted card.

Be mindful that you’ll get more money if the card you’re trying to sell is from a big popular retailer such as Amazon or Walmart.

You likely won’t get as much from a less-popular retailer.
