(WTNH) — Friday, Oct. 1 kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
According to the American Cancer Society, one out of every four, eight women will develop breast cancer at some point in their life. That is why screening and early detection are so important.
Dr. Whitney Young, a breast surgeon at Midstate Medical Center, talked to News 8 about why early screenings are important.
