Report-It Recap: Friday, September 7, 2018

The News 8 inbox was full after all the storms that passed through the state Thursday. Plus, the kids are also going back to school.

We begin with the crazy weather on Thursday. From north, south, east and west–just about everyone saw storms.

The dark, ominous clouds rolled into Connecticut. You can see them at a soccer game in Clinton.

On the water in Madison, and quickly approaching West Haven, viewers submitted photos showcasing the wrath and unpredictability of mother nature.

Heavy rain on Thursday caused some flooding as well.

Felice in Southington was getting video of the storm, when trees started falling in her yard
and then there was the lighting. These situations aren’t always easy to capture on camera, but many of you got the timing just right.

This week, we also saw another round of kids going back to school. It’s safe to say summer vacation is now over, for everyone.

One of our favorites submissions is of  a family in Shelton. The parents were happy to send the kids back. They even celebrated with confetti!

Summer is not over just yet. Elway the duck was enjoying a sunset in North Stonington.

While many of you relaxed on Labor Day, Pearl the squirrel was also trying to beat the heat.
Yes, that’s a squirrel using a fan.

Finally, Dorothy wants to wish her mother in Hamden a happy birthday. She’s 105 years old!

Olga the lady in the middle there — is 107.

Both have big reasons to celebrate!

Keep those pictures coming!
