Connecticut, we want to get you moving!
It’s all part of the One Billion Steps challenge here at News 8. Each week we’ll be recognizing a walk, 5k, or run that you and your family can take part in.
We are joined by Executive Director, Julie Rodriguez and Career Services Coordinator, Garfield Wellington both from Abilities Without Boundaries to tell you all about their 10th Annual Hot Coco 5k, Walk & Kids Fun Run this Saturday, November 7th.
Since 1978, Abilities Without Boundaries has helped individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities lead a more productive and fulfilling life. In 2011, they changed their name from Cheshire Occupational & Career Opportunities (COCO) to Abilities Without Boundaries and continued expanding their impact throughout the state.
What began with a few concerned parents has blossomed into an organization with more than 50 employees, all sharing a deep and profound respect for the individuals they serve. For 40 years, they have been helping to make a difference throughout Connecticut.
