Wesleyan lacrosse looks to become D3 national champions again, defeats Western New England


The Wesleyan Lacrosse team hoping to make it back to back D3 National Championships.
The Cardinals quest started on Wednesday.

The champs opening at home with Western New England, Wesleyan coming into the tourney with a 12-3 record.

Quick start for John Raba’s team, scoring the games first 4 goals.

Just seconds in, Christian Barker walks it in, lights it up unassisted. He had a 5 point day.
1-0 Wesleyan.

Couple minutes later, Barker gonna hook his teammate up..

Carter Hawthorne lets one fly, it’s a 2 goal lead.

A little over a minute later, North Haven’s Colin Uyeki goes the unasssisted route.
Less than 4 minutes in, The Cardinals were in front by 3.

Still in the first, Hawthorne gets his 2nd of the game.

Sean Penney with the helper on this one. Hawthrone with 3 goals and two assists.

Cardinals fell behind but had to rally in the 2nd half to move on. 11-8 the final score.
Wesleyan advances to play Amherst Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
