David Ortiz out of intensive care

The Red Sox organization reported Saturday that David Ortiz was moved out of the intensive care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. 

In a tweet Saturday afternoon, the team released a short statement, saying that “Ortiz remains in good condition and continues to recover under the care of Drs. David King and Larry Ronan”. 

On June 9, 2019, Ortiz was shot in the Dominican Republic, at approximately 8:50 p.m. local time, while at the Dial Bar and Lounge in East Santo Domingo.
