“It’s truly amazing,” said Matthew Peart, who plays football for UConn. “Just a testament to them. The hard work and dedication throughout the whole season.”
By the amount of excitement, you might think this was one of the UConn Huskies first trips to the big dance, but this is their 12th Final Four berth in a row.
“I could not wait for this,” said Hannah Finn of Dayville. “I got my crayons and made a sign for the girls.”
Christine, Noah, Hannah, and Benjamin Finn were there last year too. Benjamin’s favorite player is Kyla Irwin.
“Last year, we got a picture with her so hopefully, she can sign it this year,” said Benjamin Kipp.
Gary King graduated UConn in 1971 and he’s been a fan ever since.

“I like them all,” said King.
The girl behind a giant Katie Lou Samuelson mask is sophomore Kelly Trivella.
“Maybe we’ll get her attention,” said Trivella, along with her friend, Mason VanDenberg. “Maybe. Get a high five.”
There were plenty of high fives to go around once the team came out. The moment for which the fans had been waiting.
“Just want to thank you guys for all support you’ve shown us the whole season,” Katie Lou Samuelson told the crowd.

“I am so excited to have them go back because throughout this whole year I feel like people have been kind of counting them out this year,” said UConn band member Tyler Roberts.
Soon, the team boarded their bus for another chance at a national title.
“They really deserve it and I just want to see them come home with a W,” said Peart.
The celebration will continue through Friday night when the Huskies take on Notre Dame in Tampa.
“Umm… I think they’re going all the way.” “Me too,” said Trivella & VanDenberg. “Honestly, they’re going to go all the way. They’re going to go all the way. Take it home, baby. Oh yeah. Thank you.”
