First defeat for Berlin football this season


It’s been an intense rivalry over the years between New Britain and Berlin.

Tonight– playoff implications on the line for both.

Golden Hurricanes looking hang on to one of the Top 8 spots in the Class double L picture.

Red Coats playing to stay undefeated and atop the Class M rankings.

New Britain on the attack in the first quarter.

14-0 golden hurricanes

Redcoats fight back in the second quarter. Kevin Dunn rolls to the right. then to the left he will take it in for the score as Berlin comes back to tie it at 14 all. 

But with just 10 seconds to go until half time, Yopp will find Shawn Robinson wide open in the end zone. 21-14 New Britain at the half.

2nd half … Robinson would carry the load…Shawn with a quick hitter up the middle ….. Golden Hurricanes go up 27-14.

Then Robinson will take the inside handoff. He will carry tacklers into the end zone for his 3rd touchdown of the day as New Britain hands Berlin its first defeat with a final score of 33-14.
