Bria Holmes is coming home to play basketball. The former Hillhouse star was traded to the Connecticut Sun in exchange for the Sun’s 15th pick in Thursday’s WNBA Draft, and a second-round pick in the 2019 draft.
Holmes was playing for the Atlanta Dream, who picked her 11th overall in 2016. She will miss the entire 2018 season, as she’s pregnant with her first child.
The New Haven native said she’s happy to be coming home.
A three-time all-state champion at Hillhouse, Holmes averaged 8 points and 3 assists per game in her first two WNBA seasons.
