New Haven boxer Jimmy Williams gets back into the ring two weeks from Saturday. He’s scheduled to fight a boxer from the Bronx in a big event at Foxwoods.
Williams was out promoting the fight last night in Branford. The Welterweight is 15-1-1, his opponent Enver Halili, also pretty good. He’s 10-1….
Williams had his first professional loss back in April but bounced back with a solid win in June.
He’s ready to go for this one.
“I’m willing to die in the ring, what I’ve been through at this point in my career. This is a turning point fight for me. I’m just trying to get my family a lifestyle that I never had and if this is what it takes, this is what it takes. I’m not gonna let anybody come to my house and sleep anywhere. This is my house so I’m gonna protect it.”
Should be a great night with a good card of fighters from the area.
