QU hockey team undefeated so far this season

On the outside– not much was expected of the Quinnipiac men’s hockey team.

The Bobcats were picked to finish in the middle of the ECAC pack this season.

Having 12 freshman may have factored in to that.

Well– after 5 games– Rand Pecknolds team is undefeated.

Still a lot of hockey to play, but the Cats have already jumped into the national rankings this week..
12th and 15th in the latest polls.

For Pecknold, it’s been the perfect balance of offense…defense..goaltending…leadership and youth.

“There’s a lot of talent…when you have such a young team, there’s going to be ebbs and flows….we’ve gotta try to avoid those. Sometimes, freshman will get a little ahead of themselves…that’s our job to keep them in line and keep them focused.”

“Coming into the season, the expectation was to get back to a top…team, and being nationally recognized. I think the guys have been doing a good job to obtain that goal”, Quinnipiac Captain Chase Priskie said.

QU has scored 21 goals in 5 games– and that includes a 1 nothing win over BC…

The Cats play at Harvard Friday.
