Reigning Masters champ Patrick Reed to play in 2019 Travelers Championship

Near the end of the 2018 Travelers Championship, both Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy talked about the fact that getting a great field the following year would be tough because the U.S. Open the week before is at Pebble Beach in California.

That hasn’t stopped big names from committing.

On Wednesday, reigning Masters champion Patrick Reed joined the field at the Travelers Championship in 2019. It will be his 8th appearance at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell.

That makes nine of the top 20 golfers on the PGA Tour who have committed to the Travelers this early, including defending champ Bubba Watson and 2012 champ Marc Leishman.
