Ridgefield’s Adam Karashik thrilled to be lacing ’em up for UConn

(WTNH)–The UConn men’s hockey team returns to action with a home-and-home matchup against New Hampshire this weekend. The Huskies hope to have freshman Adam Karashik back on the ice.

He’s missed the last six games with a finger injury. Despite the injury, the former Ridgefield High School star is glad to be playing so close to home. He says he knew right away that UConn was the place for him.

“I loved it here instantaneously, and my family is close, they come to every game, most away games, so it was pretty easy for me to make my decision,” Karashik said. “I loved the coaching staff so, I mean I wanted to be a local guy, kind of a hometown guy. Hopefully we get more guys from Connecticut in here. It would be something really special playing for your state and making it kind of a tradition.”
