Soundtigers lose the first of two games against the Checkers


The Bridgeport Sound Tigers were expected to be an AHL title contender this season and they are.
With the regular season winding down, the Tigers in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division.

Brent Thompson’s team hosting the best team in the AHL Wednesday night, Charlotte Checkers looked like it too.

1st period Just a few minutes in, on the power play, working the puck around Patrick Brown puts Charlotte out in front 1-0. Thompson not liking what he sees.

2nd period, the Checkers scored 3 times.
Andrew Poturalski had two of them, more than enough for Charlotte.

Alex Nedelkovic was perfect in net; he kept Bridgeport off the board.

Sound Tigers lost 4-0.

Despite the loss Bridgeport head coach Brent Thompson says his team is in a good spot with the playoffs around the corner.

Sound Tigers and Charlotte play again Saturday night in Bridgeport.
