UConn basketball brings back the fire

If you are a UConn basketball fan, you know that the fire is back. The Huskies are 9-3 to this point.. However, they have won the games they are supposed to and other than the upset of Syracuse lost the ones they were expected to.

Today, a chance to make a statement as they play Jay Wright and the defending National Champs from Villanova. Dan Hurley hopes his team is ready.

James Jones and his Yale basketball team. Taking on former Simsbury and St. Thomas more prep star EJ Crawford and his Iona Gaels.

Bulldogs lead it 48-31 at half. 2nd half, EJ drive to the hoop, he leads Gaels with 23.

But down the other end, Reynolds nails the 3 as Yale pulls away to the 99-84 victory. They have won 6 of their last 7.

Early going all Johnnies. On the break Mustapha, the basket and three point play St. John’s by 5.

Pioneers down 53-38 at the half. St. John’s pulls away in the second half, Pioneers play hard, but fall 104-82.

The top ranked UConn women sure did look vulnerable. The other night at Oklahoma were so close to losing their first of year. That’s what will happen when Katie Lou Samuelson is not at the top of her game.

Rangers in Toronto, late 2nd period down 1-0. Neal Pionk from the right point .The blast ties it at 1-1.

3rd Period was wild. Just over a minute in a scramble. Out front, Andreas Johnsson would be credited with the goals, 2-1 Leafs. Toronto would end up beating the Rangers 5-3.

Bruins and Predators at the garden. 3rd Period tied at 2, Bruins work it around David Patrnak to Brad Marchand, the one timer scores 3-2. Bruins win it 5-2.
