UConn Freshman dominate on the ice in Hartford Tuesday

UConn men’s hockey coach Mike Cavanaugh has the Huskies program trending upward in arguably college’s toughest conference– the Hockey East.

CT looking for its 5th win of the season tonight, hosting Brown at the XL Center in Hartford.

Cavanaugh has 12 freshman on the roster this season.

They’re skating too, and contributing. It didn’t take long for the Huskies to get on the board.

A little over 2 minutes into the game, Freshman Jonny Evans set up by freshman Kale Howarth. It’s 1 nothing UConn.

In the 2nd period, it’s the young kid again. This time from one of the veterans, Evans– 2nd of the night– third of the season…

Ben Freeman hooked him up. Huskies were in front by two.

Freshman goaltender Tomas Vomacka made 25 saves for the win.
