UNH Chargers hold on to beat SCSU Owls

Both the Southern CT State and University of New Haven basketball teams are expected to have big years. Tonight– the cream of the Northeast 10 met for the first time this season.

Scott Burrell’s Owls picked to finish first in the NE10. Ted Hotaling’s Chargers picked 2nd in the pre-season poll.

The game played out that way. Isaiah McLeod had the hot hand early for the Owls…29 for the game…

On the other side– Elijah Bailey was running wild. A quick first step…UNH was able to get the Owls lead down to 3 at the half.

Southern keeps the lead in the second half. Uleyn Coleman with the strong move for 2 of his 12.

UNH was able to tie it before eventually taking the lead.

Roy Kane Jr. with the and one. He had 16.

In the end– Bailey and the Chargers able to make more plays to win it…

New Haven stays undefeated with a final score of 85-82.
