Yale falls to LSU 79-74 in first round of the NCAA Tournament


The Yale men’s basketball team saw its NCAA Tournament run end just hours after it started on Thursday.

Yale fell to the No. 3-seeded LSU Tigers by a final score of 79-74.

New Haven-native Tremont Waters and Skylar Mays led the scoring for the Tigers as their team jumped out to a 45-29 lead at the half.

Ivy League Player of the Year Miye Oni was held to just three points in the first half, while Alex Copeland contributed eight points in the first 20 minutes. Oni finished with five points while Copeland ended up with 24.

Yale came alive in the second half, battling back to within 4 with around 13 seconds left in the game, but the rally fell short.
