Heavy rain, strong wind gusts strike Connecticut on Thursday

Rain has been falling across the state all day Thursday.

In Wallingford, the fire department recommended that the residents of the Garden Homes Trailer Park on Main Street evacuate due to water coming down the roadway.

The water was raging in the Naugatuck River. Those living near a creek or river had to be prepared to move to higher ground.

Cars drove right through water on Route 67 in the Seymour/Woodbridge area.

In addition to street flooding, big waves crashed in East Haven during high tide.

At times, the state experienced wind gusts up to 50 MPH along the shoreline. It’ll still remain breezy on Thursday night with gusts up to 25 to 30 at times.
