Several highways were backed up throughout the state Thursday night as Connecticut’s first storm of the season moved in.
Several areas of interstates 84 and 691 are backed up.
News 8’s LaSalle Blanks reports that drivers on I-691 east in the Southington area are stranded. He says several people have gotten out of their cars.

State police are reporting numerous accidents, including several in I-84 westbound in the Farmington and Southbury areas.
Officials say I-84 westbound near exit 16 in Southbury is currently closed due to two stuck tractor trailers. That section of the highway has been shut down since 6:00pm this evening.

Bradley Airport is seeing a small number of delays and cancellations. Airport officials say evening flights were working on adjusting their schedules as a result of the winter storm. Passengers are advised to contact their airline carrier as to the status of their flights.

Quinnipiac University is reporting that all campus shuttles have been suspended due to the road conditions.
