TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTNH) — A Monroe man was killed in a rollover crash in Trumbull Thursday afternoon.
Trumbull police said they received several 911 calls around 10:30 a.m. regarding a crash on Stonehouse Road near Thomas Street.
Gino Magliocco, 84, was traveling east on Stonehouse Road when he hit a tree, causing his vehicle to roll over and cross the road before it came to a rest, according to police. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The crash scene spanned a large section of Stonehouse Road between West Rock Road and Thomas Street. This portion of the road was closed due to the investigation but has since reopened.
The cause of the crash and the cause of Magliocco’s death have not been determined at this time, police said.
No other vehicle was involved in the crash, and there were no passengers in Magliocco’s vehicle.
