I-84 eastbound closed in Farmington due to crash involving DATTCO bus

FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) – I-84 eastbound in Farmington has reopened following a crash involving a DATTCO bus Tuesday.

At around 11:51 a.m., state police were advised of a head-on crash on I-84 eastbound in the area of Exit 37. 911 callers reported a vehicle had crossed the median and struck a tractor-trailer head-on. Responding troopers reported that a bus was involved, not a tractor-trailer.

EMS and local fire departments were dispatched as well as the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

State police said occupants of the bus reported minor injuries. The passenger in the other vehicle involved sustained serious injuries, according to state police.

The highway was shut down on the eastbound side at Exit 35 but has since reopened. I-84 westbound was also temporarily shut down for the investigation but has since reopened.
