I-84 west reopens in Manchester after man jumps from overpass

Interstate 84 westbound has reopened in Manchester after a man jumped from a bridge overpass and died on Thursday morning.

Connecticut State Police say that there were partial lane closures on I-84 west between exits 59 and 58 after an unknown man jumped off a bridge and died.

According to the Department of Transportation, the right lane and exit 59 off ramp were closed after the incident was reported just after 8 a.m.

Police say that troopers and medical personnel arrived on scene.

That scene has since been cleared and the highway has reopened all lanes to traffic.

There were no further details released regarding the man who died. Troopers say that this is an active investigation at this time.
