I-95 north reopens in Stonington after jackknifed tractor trailer

STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– Interstate 95 northbound has reopened in Stonington after a jackknifed tractor trailer truck closed the highway during Tuesday’s nor’easter.

The Department of Transportation reports that I-95 north was closed between exits 91 and 92 because of an accident involving a jackknifed tractor trailer that happened just after 11 a.m. However the accident has since been cleared and the road has reopened to traffic.

According to Connecticut State Police, traffic was being detoured off of exit 91.

There is no word on any injuries at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.
