Pedestrian fatally struck by car on I-84 east in East Hartford


EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on Interstate-84 eastbound Monday evening, causing the roadway between Exits 58 and 59 to temporarily close.

State police said at around 7:48 p.m. Monday, an Acura ILX was traveling east on I-84 in the left/center lane of five. There was a pedestrian walking in the same part of the highway, and the Acura struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, identified as 33-year-old Arlena Lisette Clark of Hartford, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash.

Route 15 northbound was also closed at Exit 90 in East Hartford due to this crash. Both I-84 and Route 15 have since reopened.
