Delays on I-95 north in Stamford after tractor trailer rollover

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) - There are heavy delays on Interstate 95 northbound in Stamford after a tractor trailer truck overturned on Monday morning.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation reports that I-95 northbound is congested for almost 7 miles between the New York state line and exit 8.

This is due to an accident involving an overturned tractor trailer truck between exits 7 and 8 that was reported at 6:14 a.m. and closed lanes. At this time, only the exit 8 off ramp is closed.

It's unclear if anyone was injured in the accident or what caused the rollover.

There's also no word on when the highway is expected to fully reopen.  Drivers are urged to use an alternate route.
