Route 66 in Columbia shut down due to accident


Officials confirm that there is a road shutdown on Route 66 in between Route 87  and Pine Street in Columbia on Friday morning. 

The closure is due to a motor vehicle accident reported on Friday morning at 3:50 a.m.

According to the trooper on scene, the accident may have involved a pole falling onto a car. No serious injuries were reported. 

Columbia Resident State Trooper’s office confirmed that Route 66 in between Route 87 and Pine Street is completely shut down due to the accident. Police advice finding an alternate route.
