State police searching for witnesses of fatal crash on I-84 in East Hartford

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — State Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a fatal crash on I-84 westbound in East Hartford on Wednesday.

On Wednesday around 8 a.m., a car was traveling on I-84 westbound near Exit 55. A second car, a Mercury Grand Marquis GS, was driving behind the first car when, for an unknown reason, the second car struck the first car from behind.

The driver of the Grand Marquis GS died from injuries sustained in the crash. State police identified the driver as 27-year-old Blake Burrows of Manchester.

Police are looking for any witnesses to the collision to contact TFC John Wilson at Troop H at 860-534-1098.

No further information has been given at this time.
