Celebrating National Salvation Army Week with Captain Charles Adams

We all recognize the Salvation Army with their Red Kettle Campaign during Christmas. But year round, in fact daily, they are helping people in need.

This week recognizes just that with National Salvation Army Week, May 6 – 12. The Salvation Army celebrating 135 years of service in Greater New Haven.

Captain Charles Adams who works in the New Haven explains all the other social services the Salvation Army provides to the community such as the food pantry, utility assistance, Bible studies, and summer camp opportunities for children in need.

It also has a Pathway of Hope initiative where families are given intensive case management and services to help break the cycle of poverty. The second graduation will be held in June this year.

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services is always on the front lines of relief in times of need around the country and world.
