(WTNH)- Bake it Happen. A simple campaign that raises funds for metastatic breast cancer via the Connecticut-based Cancer Couch Foundation.
Shari Brooks and Stacy Pagan, whose mom lost her battle to breast cancer, have been the driving forces behind a creative national fundraising campaign aimed at helping accelerate treatment options for patients.
Dr. Rebecca Timlin-Scalera, the founder of Connecticut based Cancer Couch, came to Good Morning Connecticut to talk about how the program works and how funds are raised. Timlin-Scalera said the campaign is simple. Anyone can just bake one of their mom’s famous recipes and share a photo on social media. For every person who ‘bakes and shares’ a Bake It Happen photo, an anonymous donor will donate $5 to support metastatic breast cancer research. 100% of the funds will get doubled and go directly to Connecticut-based The Cancer Couch Foundation.
