How to plan a themed engagement party

(WTNH)- Not only is it the holiday season, but it’s also engagement season!

Lisa Antonecchia from Creative Concepts by Lisa came to Good Morning Connecticut to talk about some fun ways to throw a party for couples getting married.

Antonecchia said it is not unusual for families to prepare engagement parties and for wedding parties to plan showers. She says themed parties are a big trend at this time and a great place to do this is with family at an engagement party of a Jack and Jill shower.

One example is a baseball party for the couple that loves America’s past time. Antonecchia says to use actual baseballs for your place cards. Not only is it a place card but a great favor. Home base makes a great sign or signing board for your guests. You can provide them with metallic markers to sign their names and send words of wisdom. She also says actual baseball plates are fabulous for your food display, elevate them to give more visual interest and place hors d’oeuvres or desserts on them as a fun way to present your tasty treats. You can also use grass turf for a table runner or accent under your decor to anchor the look.

Antonecchia says with centerpieces and designs, use inspiration to continue to theme in an elegant way. She brought geometric terrariums with small groups of flowers inspired by the baseball diamond.
